You will start with a short city tour of Kigali and after all visit to the genocide memorial site; a grim reminder of the senseless massacre of innocent’s lives in 1994.
Learn about Rwanda’s history from pre-colonial times to 1994 genocide and how Rwanda has dealt with that past. You will pass by at the Hotel des Mille Collines famous for the Movie Hotel Rwanda for lunch and later transfer to the Volcanoes National in the north western part of the country; the area commonly known for the home of the Mountain Gorillas.
The drive is through beautiful rolling hills, awesome landscape, bypassing coffee and banana plantations on a comfortable paved road and is approximately 3 hours from Kigali to your lodge.
Upon arrival, you will check in, have lunch, and then the remainder of your day will be at your leisure to enjoy the breathtaking scenery and natural surroundings of the lodge.
Wake up for an early morning breakfast and at around 6:30am, we head to the Kinigi park Headquarters where you are allocated guides and briefed before heading into the forest. We will track one of the eight habituated Gorilla groups in Rwanda. Only eight people are able to track each habituated group. Sitting with the mountain gorilla is one of the most amazing wildlife experiences you will ever have. An experience that will never leave you. After your hour is up, you wind your way slowly out of the forest and back to the camp to swap stories about your amazing experience.
Today you will travel to Nyungwe via Karongi alongside Lake Kivu where you will have lunch before you proceed to the Nyungwe National Park.

The largest remaining populations is in central Africa (Gabon, DR Congo and Cameroon). About only 400 individuals, the population in Rwanda is an endangered one. However, Nyungwe National Park is the largest block of montane forest in East and Central Africa and it is an incredibly rich area of biodiversity.
Return to the lodge for lunch then later depart for your nature walk visiting Kamiranzovu waterfalls or walk in the dense forest surrounding the Lodge, watching different species of birds.
After a tasty morning breakfast, you will start your journey to the mountainous forest for the canopy. The Canopy walk is located in the middle of Igishigishi trail and is the biggest walkway in East Africa which is, at its highest point, situated at 90m above the ground, which should enable trekking tourist to gain inside of the upper tree level as well as their inhabitant such as different primate, birds and Orchids. The whole process of planning and building the canopy took at least five years during which there were mainly 250 men constantly involved in the construction process.
Later you will return to your Lodge refresh a bit and then get ready to be transferred to your Hotel in Kigali. The journey to Kigali will take around 5 – 6 Hours drive.
