Itinerary

A 4-day journey through Rwanda’s gorilla-rich Volcanoes National Park with a cultural stop in Kigali, starting and ending in Kigali.

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
  • Afternoon/Evening – Arrival: Arrive at Kigali International Airport (flight TBA), complete visa clearance and COVID-19 testing, and meet your driver/guide for a brief. Transfer to the hotel (20-minute drive) in Kigali, known for its post-1994 progress and safety.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
  • Morning – City Tour: Breakfast, enjoy a short Kigali city tour, including the Kigali Genocide Memorial to learn about Rwanda’s history and resilience.
  • Afternoon – Transfer: Drive to Volcanoes National Park (3 hr) through scenic rolling hills, coffee, and banana plantations. Check in and spend the afternoon at leisure.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
  • 06:30 AM – Trekking: Breakfast, head to Kinigi park headquarters for briefing (7:00 AM). Trek one of eight habituated gorilla groups (2-6 hr, 1 hr observation) with rangers, observing behaviors like feeding and play. Afternoon at leisure or optional activities (not included).
  • Overnight: Ingagi Park View Lodge
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 4: Transfer to Kigali
  • Morning – Departure: Breakfast, pack, and drive back to Kigali (3 hr). Drop-off at Kigali hotel or Kigali International Airport for outbound flight (TBA).
