Our 4Days 3Nights gorilla adventure is one special tour that offers our visitors with two gorilla treks with different gorilla groups. This gives our visitors a once in a lifetime opportunity to trek two different gorilla groups in the Volcanoes National Park. It allows to have different physical experiences and challenges as well as different yet very exciting experiences for the 1hr they are with the different groups the trekked.
On arrival in Kigali and after going through the customs and immigration formalities, you will be met by our driver guide who will be holding a signboard with your names written on. He will help you carry the bags and fit them in the luxury 4×4 that will be taking you throughout your tour.
You will be driven to one of the fancy restaurants in Kigali for lunch before proceeding to Volcanoes National Parks as you enjoy beautiful scenery winding through the rolling hills that make Rwanda the land of a thousand hills. You won’t miss Rwandese waving and smiling to you as way to welcome you to the beautiful and hospitable country. You can also have brief stops for memorable photo opportunity along the way which we have no doubt you will find both exciting and educative.
On arrival, you will check in at Ingagi Lodge another gem hidden in the Volcanoes where you will be received warmly by a great team that makes every visitor at Ingagi Lodge feel very at home.

You will start your day with an early breakfast before leaving for the Kinigi Park Headquarters around 6:30AM. This is the starting point for your once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience and undoubtedly a highlight of your tour.
You will arrive at arrive at the Kinigi Ranger Station by 7:00AM, Here you’ll be assigned a gorilla group and receive a detailed briefing by experienced park rangers. You’ll then set off into the forest with your guide to track one of the 14 habituated mountain gorilla families in Rwanda.
Trekking is done in small groups of up to eight people per gorilla family, accompanied by professional ranger guides. The duration of the trek can vary significantly from 2 to 6 hours depending on how far the gorillas might have moved within their 40km territorial range.
Once your assigned gorilla group is located, you’ll spend an unforgettable one hour observing these incredible primates in their natural habitat. You’ll watch as they feed, groom, rest, and play. Witnessing the gentle interactions of a gorilla family-led by a dominant silverback who can weigh over 200kg is an awesome and memorable experience.
Gorilla habituation is a long and sensitive process, taking at least two years of daily contact before the group is accustomed enough to tolerate human presence. Only once this process is complete are visitors allowed to spend a strictly limited 1 hour with them, making the encounter all the more e exclusive and respectful.
You may hear gorillas chuckling, purring, or chest-beating; each behaviour part of a fascinating system of communication involving over 25 distinct vocalizations and complex social interactions. With luck, you might witness juveniles playing or the silverback demonstrating his authority-perhaps even with a dramatic display.
After your unforgettable hour, you will make your way slowly back through the forest to the park headquarters, and then return to your lodge.

After returning to Ingagi Lodge, you’ll have time to freshen up and rest. The remainder of the afternoon and evening is at leisure, allowing you to relax, reflect and share stories about your yet another just concluded wildlife encounter.

After morning breakfast at around 8:00AM, you will head back to Kigali enjoying morning breathtaking scenery as you wind around the rolling hills that make Rwanda the land of a thousand hills, you won’t realize how fast the 2.5-3hrs will go. On arrival in Kigali, you’ll have an opportunity to visit the Kigali genocide memorial where you will see firsthand the tragedy that befell Rwanda in 1994 due to poor leadership. However, you’ll will also appreciate the resilience of Rwandese as a people for rebuilding the destroyed country in such a short time to the wonder it is today. A visit to this genocide memorial is so emotional but I bet it’s worth the effort.
Time allowing you could also get a short time at the Campaign against genocide Museum where you will see firsthand how the then rebel 600 RPA soldiers who were at former Parliament (CND) to protect RPA politicians as had been agreed during the 1993 Arusha Peace talks. This small force of RPA soldiers played a huge role in saving thousands and thousands of Tutsis from extermination. These RPA being in Kigali when the genocide started was blessing in disguise for the Tutsi who were bound to be exterminated. You will be driven for lunch at one of the great restaurants in Kigali before being driven to your hotel or Airport depending on your flight schedule.

To ensure your comfort and safety during the trek, please bring:
Waterproof hiking boots or sturdy trainers
Long trousers and long-sleeved shirt (to protect against stinging nettles)
Thick socks (tuck pants into socks to guard against insects)
A light fleece and waterproof jacket (weather in the rainforest is unpredictable capable of
changing quickly and any time)
Garden gloves (optional, but helpful when grabbing vegetation for support)
Volcanoes National Park sits at high altitude and weather conditions can vary rapidly-come
prepared for rain, sun, and cooler temperatures.
