An 8-day journey through Rwanda and Uganda, featuring gorilla trekking, wildlife safaris, and cultural experiences, starting and ending in Kigali.

Day 1: Arrival at Kigali Airport
  • Morning – City Tour: Breakfast, explore Kigali with visits to Kimironko Giant Market, Dr. Richard Kandt House Museum, Kigali Genocide Memorial, and Hotel des Mille Collines (famous from Hotel Rwanda).
  • Afternoon – Transfer: Drive to Musanze near Volcanoes National Park (scenic route with coffee and banana plantations).
  • Overnight: Ingagi Park View Lodge (FB)

Day 2: Kigali City Tour & Transfer to Musanze

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi National Park
  • 09:00 AM – Departure: Breakfast, drive to Bwindi National Park (Uganda) via the Kyanika Border (30 minutes from Ruhengeri, requiring an East African Visa). Enjoy views of the Kisoro hills and Lake Mutanda (a 3-hour drive).
  • 03:00 PM – Batwa Trail: Check into the lodge, have lunch, then take a guided Batwa trail walk to learn about the Bakiga and Batwa Pygmy communities.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park
  • 07:00 AM – Trekking: Breakfast, head to Bwindi park headquarters for briefing (8:00 AM). Trek one of eight habituated gorilla groups (2-6 hr, 1 hr observation) with rangers. Afternoon at leisure.
  • Overnight: Rushaga Gorilla Lodge (FB)

Day 5: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi & Boat Cruise
  • 09:00 AM – Departure: Breakfast, drive to Lake Bunyonyi through Kigezi Highlands (3 hr).
  • Afternoon – Boat Cruise: Lunch at Bunyonyi Overland, then canoe to historical islands like Kyahugye (wildlife: zebras, waterbucks). Lake Bunyonyi is Africa’s deepest, Bilharzia-free lake.
  • Overnight: Arcadia Cottages

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
  • Morning – Departure: Breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth NP via Ishasha sector (6-7 hr) to spot tree-climbing lions. Arrive at Mweya sector, home to elephants, lions, and 600+ bird species.

Day 7: Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
  • 06:30 AM – Game Drive: Early tea/coffee, game drive on Kasenyi trails for lions, hyenas, and elephants (3+ hr). Return for lunch.
  • Afternoon – Boat Cruise: Cruise on Kazinga Channel to see hippos, crocodiles, and birds.

Day 8: Transfer to Kigali via Kampala
